Principal's Message

At YPS, we value every pupil and are committed to their holistic development. We believe that with the right support, every child has the potential to grow into a confident, gracious citizen who embraces lifelong learning. In our journey together, there are three pillars of growth that I believe are essential for our children:

Commitment in Endeavours

Learning is rarely easy, but by cultivating positive habits and a growth mindset, we empower ourselves to succeed. We do this by putting our best effort into every task. As the saying goes, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” We must be brave enough to take those first steps into the unknown to remain relevant in our fast-changing world.

The ability to learn confidently and continuously is one of the greatest gifts we can offer the younger generation. We endeavour to imbue our pupils with the values, knowledge, and skills to discover their passions, leading to balanced and fulfilling lives.

Service to Others

While the drive toward self-improvement is vital, we must also remain mindful of those around us. No person is an island; our successes are often built upon the collective contributions of others—be it timely advice from a teacher, a reminder from a classmate, or a kind gesture from a canteen vendor serving a nourishing meal.

We encourage our pupils to show gratitude and recognise that we all have a part to play in supporting the less privileged and contributing meaningfully to our community.

Striving for Excellence

We believe that collective effort brings about positive change in the larger environment. By celebrating our pupils’ efforts in both academic and non-academic domains, we honour their innate potential. Our goal is to provide the necessary support for every child to grow and strive to become the best version of themselves.

Moving forward, YPS will continue to focus on the holistic growth of our pupils. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our parents and partners for your steadfast support. Together, I am confident that Yishun Primary School will continue to nurture world-ready youths for tomorrow.
