School Rules
General Rules
- Students who are Singapore citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the Pledge. Students will take the pledge with the right fist placed over the heart.
- Students are to wear the prescribed school uniform and modification to the uniform is not allowed.
- Male students must be neat in appearance, clean-shaven and no facial hair is allowed.
- All students are not allowed to have in their possession of any weapon. They are also not allowed to bring any weapon-like item which is used or intended to be used to cause harm to others.
- Students must always be properly and neatly attired at all times.
- Students must be punctual and courteous at all times.
- Students are to take care of school property.
- Students must be well-behaved both within and outside the school.
- Students are not allowed to leave the school during school hours without permission.
- To avoid distractions from mobile devices, students are not encouraged to bring devices such as smartphones or smartwatches to school. If there is a need to bring such devices, they must be switched off and kept safely at all times. Students should only make urgent calls with their teachers’ permission or supervision. All mobile devices should be kept before tests/examinations.
Attire for Students
School Uniform
- School blouse/shirt sleeves should not be rolled up.
- Students are to wear the prescribed school uniform and any modification to the uniform is not allowed.
- Name tags must be sewn above the school badge on the school uniforms.
- Girls’ culottes are to be at least knee-length long.
PE Attire
- Students are to be attired in their PE T-shirts and brown PE shorts during PE lessons. (P3 to P6 students)
- P1 and P2 students are allowed to be in their PE attire on days when they have PE lessons.
- Name tags must be sewn above the school badge on the PE T-shirts.
- PE T-shirts must always be neatly tucked in.
Shoes and Socks
- Only plain black shoes with laces or velcro strap are allowed in school.
- Only black socks must be worn at all times.
Appearance for Boys
Hair
- Hair must be short and neatly combed.
- Hair must not touch the collar of the uniform.
- No fanciful hairstyles are allowed.
- Spiking of hair with gel is not allowed.
- No side burns are allowed.
- No colouring of hair is allowed.
Nails and Accessories
- Nails should be clean and short.
- Piercing of ear is not allowed.
- No jewellery is to be worn. (eg. Necklace, ring, anklet, bracelet etc.)
- Only simple watches and spectacles frame (without fanciful designs) are allowed
- Tinted or coloured spectacle lenses are not allowed.
Appearance for Girls
Hair
- Hair must be short and neatly combed.
- Hair that reaches beneath the collar should be neatly plaited or tied up in a ponytail.
- Fringe should be above the eyebrows and should be secured with a flat hairclip or a hairband.
- Hair accessories should be in black or dark brown.
- No colouring of hair is allowed.
Nails / Accessories / Cosmetics makeup / Jewellery
- Nails should be clean and short.
- No nails polish or gloss is allowed.
- Only one ear stud on each ear is allowed.
- Ear studs worn must be of simple design.
- Ear studs must be identical.
- Any other jewellery is not to be worn. (eg. Necklace, ring, anklet, bracelet etc.)
- Only simple watches and spectacles frame (without fanciful designs) are allowed.
- Tinted or coloured spectacle lenses are not allowed.
Use of Mobile Devices
- Students are not encouraged to bring smartphones or smartwatches to school.
- If there is a need to bring a mobile device, it must be switched off and kept safely at all times.
Usage of phone within school compound
- Students can make phone calls only during dismissal time to arrange for family members to pick them up from school.
- Students can only make calls with teachers’ permission and supervision.
Possible consequences if students are found using mobile devices
- Teachers would remind students to put away the mobile devices.
- Teachers to inform parents that students are using mobile devices inappropriately.
